@2017

The photo above was taken in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, on Christmas night 2016. Most of the family was warm and inside the house, eating and chilling, but my daughter, brother, nephew and I were out in the cold (chilling for real) making some photos of the night sky.

To me this shot is a peek into the great unknown, a long exposure bringing out light from stars that are unimaginably distant. Technically, when you look at a star, you’re looking into the past at light that’s reaching you after traveling tens or even billions of light years. It seems like an appropriate image to end 2016 with, as I look back on another year: kids continue to grow up, friendships evolve, jobs change and we all get a little bit older (and hopefully wiser).

2017 is shaping up to be a year full of promise; exciting new projects and opportunities are in the making, so it seems like the perfect time to take the plunge and start something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while: a photography blog!

This is where I’ll be talking about what and where I’m shooting, some behind-the-scenes stuff, as well as travel stories and maybe even some gear reviews.

I’m off to Belize shortly on assignment so look here for updates on my travels.

All the Best and Happy New Year !
